It is our mission to develop the resources, tools and network that will allow you, builders and tradespeople, to focus on the work of building. Tradespeople and general contractors build beautiful, sound, safe and well-designed spaces where we live and work. Many (some we have worked with, and some family members) in the building trades, told us about the obstacles that get in the way of getting their work done.
Here are some of the frustrations we heard:
- Insurance: finding it, buying it, managing the certificates of insurance for permits, audits (UGH), etc.
- Finding great & skilled people to work with/for
- Scheduling: communicating about who does what when and getting things lined up so that no one is wasting his or her time.
- Getting paid on time.

We believe that these are some of the biggest headaches for those of you in the building trades. That managing these limits your capacity to work. And time is money! We are starting with making insurance easier to get, maintain, and manage. Our sole focus today is making that work better for you. Once we have accomplished that, then we will move on to tackling some of the other obstacles that get in the way of you getting the job done.
We know that the complicated, and dangerous work of building requires incredible teamwork to create amazing spaces for us to live and work. We know that we will only be successful if we also build that spirit of teamwork, of handoff, and specialization, and listen to what you, our customers need, continue to listen and understand what makes your work-lives easier, more productive and more prosperous.
